About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian/The Allen Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Technologist - Generalist to perform routine and complex testing on clinical specimens in areas including Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, and Microbiology. The role includes performing quality control procedures according to policy, documenting all results, and following up on out-of-range results. This is a full-time evening-shift position at the Allen campus in Upper Manhattan/Inwood. Hours are 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., including alternate weekends and rotating holidays.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or an equivalent curriculum.
- New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education Department.
Nice To Haves
- ASCP certification.
- At least two years of experience as a Laboratory Technologist in Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and complex tests on clinical specimens in Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, and Microbiology.
- Perform quality control procedures for all tests as dictated by policy.
- Document all test results.
- Follow up on out-of-range results.
