About The Position

The Industrial Laboratory Technician will be responsible for obtaining, preparing, and analysing various samples including electric arc furnace, raw material, finished product, and environmental water samples. This role involves conducting physical and chemical tests, visually inspecting shipments, in-process production, and raw materials, and investigating out-of-specification analyses. The technician will also recommend process changes, assist the Environmental, Safety and Health Coordinator, follow detailed instructions and test methods, perform assignments confidentially under minimal supervision, handle classified information, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental guidelines.

Requirements

  • Required an associate degree in laboratory science, chemical technology or a closely related field
  • Be able to work 12 hour shifts, we are a 24/7 operation shift work is mandatory
  • Be willing to work both individually and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Be well organized, detail oriented, and have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Obtaining, preparing, and analysing electric arc furnace samples, raw material samples, finished product samples and environmental water samples
  • Conducting physical and chemical tests
  • Visually inspecting shipments, in process production and raw materials
  • Investigating out of specification analysis
  • Recommending appropriate process changes that may be required
  • Provide assistance to the Environmental, Safety and Health Coordinator as required
  • Follows detailed instructions and/or test methods pertaining to specific work assignments
  • Confidentially perform specific work assignments under minimal supervision
  • Handles classified information and is responsible for safeguarding this classified information
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable corporate and governmental guidelines, rules, and regulations pertaining to health, safety, and environmental issues
