About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Petroleum Laboratory Technician to join their Caleb Brett team at the Deer Park, TX facility. This role supports analytical testing for Intertek and its clients, maintaining associated records to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective service.   • Must demonstrate ability to follow standard and non-standard procedures.
  • Must demonstrate ability to utilize non-complex and complex instrumentation.
  • Must be able to work overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Must have some type of experience handling hydrocarbon products.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prefer successful completion of at least one semester of college level chemistry and/or prior work experience in a laboratory environment.
  • GC Experience is definitely a plus!
  • Octane/Cetane testing experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Perform numerous chemical and physical tests based on American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods or accepted industry standards in multiple test areas.
  • Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Clean glassware and test equipment.
  • Assist with preparing reagents as needed.
  • Record data on appropriate data sheets and report data to LIMS system.
  • Maintain quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories.
  • Comply with safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements.
  • Participate in cross training as needed.
