Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience helpful.
  • Experience in a petroleum laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, examines, and records inbound samples for testing through a login process.
  • Delivers test samples to the staging area.
  • Monitors the availability of supplies needed for testing processes and informs the Laboratory Manager of any needs.
  • Performs testing of samples and quality control specimens using specified methodology after demonstrating proficiency.
  • Reviews results against specifications and known expectations.
  • May be delegated to issue analysis to clients.
  • Prepares samples and quality control specimens.
  • Prepares and standardizes reagents and solutions.
  • Calibrates equipment needed for testing processes.
  • Verifies and communicates results obtained, making appropriate entries into instrument logs, control charts, calibration records, laboratory worksheets, and any other media to ensure data validity and traceability.
  • Maintains documentation, equipment, and work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Assists in the training of less experienced employees after demonstrating proficiency.
  • Carries out all responsibilities in a supportive manner, adhering to the Company’s Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • Adheres to all Company policies.
  • Performs other duties as required.
