About The Position
Sonic Reference Laboratory, Inc. is hiring a full-time Laboratory Specimen Processor I in Austin, Texas. The role supports clinical laboratory operations by receiving, verifying, processing, and routing specimens and orders. It requires attention to detail, typing proficiency, urgency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Tuesday through Saturday, and is benefits eligible. A sign-on bonus is available.
Requirements
- Associate degree, or phlebotomy certification with a high school diploma.
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
- Typing proficiency, including 10-key.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in a biological science or certification in a medical or technologist program.
- Two or more years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing.
- Data entry experience in a laboratory production environment.
Responsibilities
- Open and verify shippers and sample types, and ensure shippers are empty.
- Complete specimen receipt logs.
- Receive specimens and forward problem samples or orders to exception handling.
- Identify ordering, labeling, and specimen issues.
- Aliquot samples.
- Ship samples to other referral laboratories.
- Perform data entry.
