Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Formal Phlebotomy training preferred.
Certified Phlebotomy Technician Preferred
Knowledge of laboratory terminology preferred
Specimen handling preferred
Data entry preferred
Windows software preferred
HIS and LIS preferred

Nice To Haves

1 - 2 years’ experience in hospital lab setting

Responsibilities

Properly label, aliquot, package, and track specimens through the entire TriHealth Laboratory system.
Dispatch specimens to the appropriate referral laboratory.
Serve as a key point of contact for customers of TriHealth by managing inbound and outbound communications.
Provide support for diagnostic laboratory services.
Collect information necessary for service and billing.
Resolve customer inquiries/issues.
Complete paperwork in compliance with OIG guidelines, including accurate interpretation and transcription of physician orders and LIS/HIS order entry.
Procure quality specimens from adult, geriatric, pediatric, and infant patients for diagnostic testing according to CLIA, Joint Commission, and CAP guidelines.
Prioritize, organize, and handle a quantity of work.
Ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness of work.
Handle complex assignments received, delegated, and completed.
Utilize judgment skills and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate overall procedure knowledge and quality assurance knowledge, including documentation as needed.
