About The Position

Samaritan Healthcare is looking for a Lab Director to join their dedicated lab team. In addition to hospital-based services, Samaritan offers outpatient lab testing at three convenient laboratory locations. The Laboratory is inspected, accredited, and/or licensed by the College of American Pathologists, Washington State Department of Health, DNV-GL, and FDA. The Samaritan Healthcare Laboratory is a CLIA accredited laboratory performing moderate and high complexity testing. Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Laboratory Director is responsible for managing, coordinating, and performing the day-to-day operations and workflow of the Laboratory. This role will assist the CAO with oversight and implementation of facility-related operational planning, budgets, and workflow processes. The Laboratory Director is responsible for employee selection, training, performance evaluations, and employee relations. The individual in this position shall maintain the highest standards of professional performance for the benefit of the patient, physician, and community, in accordance with the professional standards and ethics of Medical Technologists. This is a full-time, salary-exempt position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science plus four (4) years training and/or experience in high complexity testing.
  • Must meet CLIA requirements for a high complexity Laboratory.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in MLS role preferably in hospital setting.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferably in hospital setting.
  • Nationally recognized certification as MLS (ASCP or equivalent).
  • Washington State Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification.
  • Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.

Responsibilities
