About The Position

ICON is hiring a PRN/as-needed Laboratory Assistant for its Early Phase Clinical Research team in Salt Lake City, Utah. The role supports technical staff with the handling, storage, and accounting of biological laboratory specimens, quality control, and related tasks. Scheduled availability is needed Saturday and Sunday between 7 AM and 4 PM. Hours are not guaranteed and vary according to business needs.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of related clinical laboratory experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle large workload demands and troubleshoot issues.
• Time management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to keep accurate, legible records and adhere to GCP, GLP, and GDP.
• Legal right to work in the country where the role is based.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree preferred; candidates with an associate's degree or high school diploma will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Monitor samples and troubleshoot discrepancies.
• Consolidate created samples and containers, such as slides, blocks, and reports.
• Search for and retrieve documents and samples.
• Perform data entry and monitor emails and other correspondence.
• Check that slides and blocks are properly barcoded and labeled.
• Assist pathologists with technical and clerical work.
