About The Position

This position supports the general upkeep and maintenance of the laboratories, including routine cleaning, housekeeping, and calibration of basic instruments. The incumbent will receive, inspect, sort, and label client samples, and handle reagent ordering and delivery to the appropriate teams. The role requires the ability to follow standard procedures, communicate effectively with all levels, and be a strong team player. Adherence to training SOPs for training and training records is essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Ability to use basic types of computer software (Word & Outlook).
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and composition.
  • Ability to work well with others and independently.
  • Proven time management skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.
  • Appropriate attitude, constant vigilance, attention to detail, and following Training SOP for training and training records.

Responsibilities

  • Executing sample preparation and breakdown using tools such as cutting, scraping, smashing, and crushing.
  • Participating in the maintenance and calibration of basic instruments like balances and water systems as assigned by the Metrology Manager, following established procedures.
  • Cleaning the lab and removing all waste containers.
  • Discarding solvent waste, acid waste, and cytotoxic waste in the lab.
  • Checking and maintaining desiccators.
  • Maintaining the refrigerator.
  • Refilling all lab supplies, including paper towels and gloves.
  • Maintaining and cleaning fume hoods, dissolution baths, sonicators, water baths, and other instruments.
  • Cleaning glassware.
  • Maintaining equipment in good order and in compliance with SOPs.
  • Keeping the work area clean and organized, including immediately cleaning up spills, disposing of waste according to laboratory procedures, and removing expired reagents and chemicals.
  • Staging samples and work packages for release into the laboratory for testing.
  • Maintaining clean and stocked workstations, ensuring spills are immediately cleaned, hazardous waste is disposed of according to laboratory procedures, glassware is appropriately handled, and lab solutions are replaced.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and scheduling/monitoring housekeeping activities.
  • Following pre-established laboratory cleaning schedules.
  • Refilling all necessary chemicals, reagents, and water.
  • Performing other assigned lab duties as per required time intervals and within the scope of the incumbent's skill and ability.
