Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is actively seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join their National IH Laboratory team in Pittsburgh, PA. The Laboratory Assistant will support the Building & Construction Business by performing sample processing and login, supply ordering, billing, customer service, and a full range of administrative duties. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years+ experience in an administrative role
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to plan, organize, and complete a variety of projects within established standards, objectives, and time frame
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to strictly follow SOPs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a LIMS
  • Experience with sample processing
  • 1+ years of laboratory experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience and familiarity working with Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities

  • Perform sample processing and login utilizing a LIMS
  • Receive calls from clients and provide customer service and/or routing to the appropriate technical staff
  • Greet and assist clients with sample submissions onsite
  • Create various documents, spreadsheets, etc. utilizing Microsoft Office Software.
  • Perform various general office duties including faxing, copying, mailing, filing, etc.
  • Assisting with end of month billing, Accounts Receivable, Collections, and Invoice payments
  • May assist with developing, updating and/or reviewing local operating procedures and/ or work instructions
