About The Position

Park Nicollet is seeking a Laboratory Assistant, Outreach Phlebotomist to provide a wide range of laboratory services. The role includes specimen collection, client service and reception desk duties, ordering, scheduling and billing functions, laboratory testing, phlebotomy, dispatching, specimen processing and centrifuging, and delivering specimens to the appropriate laboratory or department. The Laboratory Assistant helps maintain efficient workflow and serves as a resource for hospital and clinic staff with questions about specimen handling and processing.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and ability to safely and legally operate Park Nicollet vehicles; may occasionally need to drive a personal car.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure patient safety.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet time-sensitive customer requests and adapt to short-notice changes.

Nice To Haves

• One year of phlebotomy experience.
• ASCP phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities
