About The Position

Processes laboratory orders and obtains required specimens for laboratory testing. The role collects specimens from inpatients and outpatients of all ages while prioritizing identification protocols; processes patient specimens, including registration, test requests, in-house and send-out testing, site batches, and patient-result phone calls; resolves send-out issues; makes decisions according to situational urgency and documents issues and resolutions in accordance with work procedures and hospital and departmental policies; maintains adequate supplies; and transports specimens as a courier.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Current California Phlebotomy License.
Current BLS certification.
Current driver's license.
Current and ongoing Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) considered insurable under CMHS insurance coverages.

Nice To Haves

Six or more months of recent hospital experience.
