About The Position

Lewis Brisbois is seeking an attorney to join its Labor & Employment Practice in the Walnut Creek, California office. The role offers the opportunity to provide legal services within a sophisticated practice and assume a significant role across labor and employment law. It involves extensive contact with clients, governmental agencies, and opposing counsel. The practice represents clients nationwide in employment litigation, counseling, and training. Candidates should be comfortable drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions. The position is suited to a proactive self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate strong writing and analytical skills. Attorneys with substantive litigation experience and an interest in labor and employment law are also encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Admission to practice law in California.
Eight to fifteen years of experience in employment law matters.
Prior employment litigation experience.
Experience handling single-plaintiff employment claims, PAGA, Wage & Hour, and FEHA matters.
Strong writing and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Management-side employment litigation experience.
Employment counseling or in-house employment law experience.
Substantive litigation experience in another area and a demonstrated interest in labor and employment law.
