About The Position

This position is for a midlevel to senior associate with four to seven years of employment law experience to join the Labor & Employment practice group in the Seattle office. The firm is seeking candidates with a demonstrated passion for building a practice and a desire to work creatively with clients to find solutions.

Requirements

  • Midlevel to senior associate
  • Four to seven years of employment law experience
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Excellent legal writing skills
  • Experience in employment litigation
  • Experience with court appearances
  • Experience with depositions
  • Experience preferably with an AmLaw 100 law firm
  • Ability to effectively manage internal and external client relationships
  • Ability to take the lead on matters
  • Ability to supervise junior associates

  • Experience in single-plaintiff and class action lawsuits

  • Experience in drafting discovery requests and responses
  • Experience in drafting oppositions to motions for class certification (including declaration gathering drives)
  • Experience in drafting long-form settlement agreements in wage and hour class/collective actions
  • Experience in drafting separation agreements, offer letters, arbitration agreements, and PIIAs
  • Experience advising and counseling clients on employment law compliance including policies, handbooks, leaves and accommodations, employee performance and discipline, hiring and terminations
  • Experience with conducting labor due diligence on M&A deals

Responsibilities

  • Employment litigation, including court appearances and depositions
  • Manage internal and external client relationships
  • Take the lead on matters
  • Supervise junior associates

  • Drafting motions to compel arbitration
  • Drafting discovery requests and responses
  • Drafting oppositions to motions for class certification (including declaration gathering drives)

  • Advising and counseling clients on employment law compliance including policies, handbooks, leaves and accommodations, employee performance and discipline, hiring and terminations
  • Conducting labor due diligence on M&A deals
