About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) for a travel assignment at a large Magnet-designated acute care hospital. The ideal candidate will have strong Labor & Delivery experience in high-volume hospital settings and be confident performing circulating duties and sterile vaginal exams.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- First-time travelers will not be considered
- Must be able to Circulate
- Must be able to Perform sterile vaginal exams
- Active California RN license required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate certification required
Nice To Haves
- Experience in large hospital settings highly preferred
- AWHONN Advanced preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery
- Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and obstetric procedures
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and labor assessments
- Circulate during cesarean sections and obstetric surgical procedures
- Administer medications, treatments, and patient education
- Respond appropriately to obstetric emergencies and changes in patient condition
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary maternal-child healthcare teams
