About The Position

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Multispecialty Care team. Ideal candidates are patient focused, mission driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge to coordinate and perform hands on acute patient care at the bedside. The role is in the Labor and Delivery department, working nights for 24 hours per week, from 7pm to 7am, at St John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available. The position involves establishing a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families. It also includes promoting and restoring patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families, and supervising assigned team members. Additionally, the role focuses on promoting patient's independence by establishing patient care goals, teaching patients, friends, and family about their condition, medications, and self-care skills, and answering questions. The nurse will assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, making or recommending necessary adjustments, and following nursing philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.

Requirements

Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice is required.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
Experience in healthcare is preferred.
