About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery is responsible for providing direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on scientific nursing principles. This RN will float to Med-Surg as needed and is required to take care of pediatric patients.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Labor/Delivery experience.
• Must be willing to float to MS and take care of pediatric patients.
• Active RN license with AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS & NRP certifications.
• Must have completed a fetal monitoring class (intermediate or advanced) within the past 24 months.
• Availability every other weekend, for 2-3 on-call shifts a month, and holiday rotation.

• EPIC experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a labor and delivery setting.
• Monitor fetal heartbeat, body temperature, blood pressure, and other vital signs during childbirth.
• Assist in the development of patient care plans for identified problems under professional supervision.
• Float to Med-Surg to assist with overflow patients as needed.
• Participate in nursing rounds and staff meetings.
