The Labeling Coordinator is a service-oriented role in the Living Plant Documentation department. The position works with staff in Horticulture, Development, Communications, Science, Education, and senior management. Accuracy and timely delivery of plant labels are central to the work. The coordinator frequently uses scientific plant-name knowledge to support staff, visitors, and members, and occasionally presents to internal and external audiences. The role maintains display labels and accession tags throughout the Garden, including public display areas, natural areas, and plant breeding and ornamental plant evaluation trial plantings. It supports plant-record and nomenclature work in the BRAHMS collections database, helps with collections inventories, and collaborates across departments on labeling techniques for projects and events. The coordinator also communicates with vendors, purchases supplies, coordinates with the Plant Documentation Manager on the labeling budget, and helps orient and train staff, interns, seasonal employees, and volunteers. This is a year-round, full-time, non-exempt position that reports to the Manager, Plant Documentation and supervises volunteers and interns. The work takes place in a mixed office and outdoor setting, including work outdoors in all weather conditions.
