About The Position

Kimball Midwest is hiring a 1st shift Packer-Labeling associate at its Columbus, Ohio distribution center. The role involves setting up a scale machine, filling boxes with parts to the specified weight, labeling and packing boxes, and inspecting merchandise for quality. Associates document product accuracy, labeling quality, and country-of-origin accuracy while maintaining a high production level. The work takes place in a climate-controlled environment.

Requirements

Ability to read and write small letters and numbers.
Ability to make arithmetic calculations.
Ability to follow and understand written and oral instructions.
Ability to concentrate and communicate with management and coworkers.
Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds waist to waist.
Ability to push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to walk and stand on concrete floors for long periods.
Ability to frequently bend and twist the back.
Ability to finely manipulate and grip objects.
Ability to squat and reach.

Responsibilities

Set up the scale machine for the proper weight of the box being packaged.
Fill boxes with parts until the proper weight is indicated and affix labels to the boxes.
Pack boxes onto shelf boxes.
Visually inspect merchandise for quality and check for defects or bad plating.
Package merchandise accurately while maintaining a high production level.
Document quality standards, including product accuracy, labeling quality, and country-of-origin accuracy.
