About The Position
This position is responsible for safely labeling products with appropriate labels according to the production schedule. The role involves ensuring product labels meet production schedule specifications, managing label materials, verifying product labeling accuracy against customer orders, loading labels into the machine, and recording information from label boxes. The Labeler must ensure the label matches the code on the can, adjust the machine for label alignment and glue adhesion, perform changeovers, maintain machine speeds, and record downtime. Additionally, the role requires active participation as a team member, fostering cohesiveness, and supporting team initiatives and policies. The individual will be familiar with Simmons' operating systems and their role in supporting them, communicating concerns and improvement ideas. Other duties as necessary to support business objectives may be assigned.
Requirements
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand on your feet for the entire shift and use grasping motion with your hands.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

- Attends appropriate team meetings.
- Fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.
- Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
- Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
- Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
