About The Position

Galliker Dairy Company has an immediate opening for a full-time Laboratory Technician at its Johnstown, Pennsylvania location. The position works overnight, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. The successful candidate performs routine laboratory testing under Quality Assurance supervision, operates and maintains laboratory equipment, records results accurately and promptly, and communicates results to appropriate plant personnel. The role also involves participating in Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture laboratory programs and applying dairy industry testing standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Knowledge of routine standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Ability to accurately perform laboratory tests using required lab equipment and instruments.
• Ability to record test results accurately and promptly and communicate them effectively to appropriate personnel.
• Ability to make minor adjustments to laboratory equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and experiments using standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Operate laboratory equipment and instruments; record data and make minor equipment adjustments as needed.
• Participate in the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA) Split Sample Program annually.
• Participate in the PDA Bi-Annual Laboratory Evaluation.
• Use proper testing techniques to avoid compromising laboratory results.
• Prepare, clean, sterilize, and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Understand and apply dairy industry laboratory testing standards and regulations.
• Communicate testing results to appropriate plant personnel.
