About The Position

Galliker Dairy Company has an immediate opening for a full-time Laboratory Technician at its Johnstown, Pennsylvania location. This overnight position runs from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. The technician works under Quality Assurance supervision, performing laboratory tests according to standard operating procedures, operating and maintaining lab equipment, recording results, and communicating findings to plant personnel. The role also involves participating in Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture laboratory programs and applying dairy-industry testing standards and regulations.

Requirements

Knowledge of routine standard operating procedures under the supervision of Quality Assurance.
Ability to accurately perform laboratory tests using required laboratory equipment and instruments.
Ability to record test results accurately and promptly and communicate them effectively to appropriate personnel.
Ability to operate, clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform daily laboratory tests and experiments using standard operating procedures.
Operate laboratory equipment and instruments, record data, and make minor equipment adjustments as needed.
Record test results accurately and in a timely manner, and communicate results to appropriate plant personnel.
Participate in the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Split Sample Program and Bi-Annual Laboratory Evaluation.
Use proper testing techniques to avoid compromising laboratory results.
Prepare, clean, sterilize, and maintain laboratory equipment.
Understand and apply dairy-industry laboratory testing standards and regulations.
