About The Position

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Laboratory Technician – VOC Canister Room to join their Environmental Services team in Mississauga. This is a hands-on operational role focused on the preparation, maintenance, assembly, packaging, and shipment of specialized air-sampling equipment used by clients. The role involves equipment preparation, assembly, troubleshooting, shipping support, and production activities within a specialized team. It is suitable for recent graduates or individuals who enjoy technical work, offering extensive training in laboratory, mechanical, and operational skills. This is a permanent, full-time, on-site position in Mississauga, working standard business hours, five days a week.

Requirements

  • College diploma, university degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Mechanical curiosity and willingness to learn.
  • Comfortable learning to use hand tools and equipment.
  • Problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong work ethic and accountability; dependable and consistently follow through on commitments.
  • Enjoy active work, comfortable standing for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and lifting materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, identify needs, and proactively contribute to team success.
  • Ability to work well with others, communicate effectively, and contribute positively to a collaborative environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, Microsoft Office applications, and simple computer systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in science, environmental studies, manufacturing, assembly, shipping, or warehouse operations.
  • Experience with air sampling equipment or canister preparation (training provided).

Responsibilities

  • Clean, assemble, inspect, and prepare reusable air-sampling equipment, canisters, tubing, and accessories for client use.
  • Build tubing assemblies, install fittings and connectors, perform equipment testing, and assist with diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
  • Package customer equipment, prepare documentation, assemble shipping kits, and ensure accurate and timely order processing and delivery.
  • Load canisters and flow controllers into cleaning systems, prepare equipment for processing, and contribute to the efficient operation of the department.
  • Follow established procedures, maintain accurate records, keep work areas organized, and ensure compliance with Bureau Veritas quality and safety requirements.
