About The Position

Deibel Laboratories is hiring a full-time Food Laboratory Technician at its Allentown, Pennsylvania location. The entry-level role involves learning and accurately performing laboratory testing procedures, recording testing data and results, and helping ensure analyses are completed within specified timeframes. Training is provided. The position is 40 hours per week and offers starting hourly pay of $18–$20, depending on knowledge and experience, plus benefits.

Requirements

Interest in learning basic microbiology and laboratory testing procedures.
Basic math skills.
Physical dexterity to manipulate samples.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10–15 pounds repeatedly.

Nice To Haves

Basic knowledge of personal computers.
Planning skills to maintain analysis supplies and meet timelines.
Previous experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, food industry, food service, baking, barista work, or retail.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate effectively and develop good working relationships with employees.
Professional workplace appearance, ethical conduct, honesty, and integrity in communications.
Interest in seeking out and participating in appropriate training and professional development.

Responsibilities

Learn and accurately perform testing procedures and obtain accurate results.
Enter testing data and results using a personal computer.
Help maintain supplies of analysis materials.
Complete analyses within specified timeframes.
