About The Position

Deibel Laboratories is hiring a full-time Food Laboratory Technician at its Manhattan, Kansas location. The company operates private food-testing facilities that provide microbiology and chemistry testing services. This is an entry-level position, and training is provided. The technician learns basic microbiology and performs testing procedures accurately, enters testing data and results, maintains analysis supplies, and completes analyses within specified timeframes. The role requires basic math, planning, computer, and sample-handling skills.

The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The position is 40 hours per week. Starting pay is $18–$20 per hour, depending on experience, with benefits.

Requirements

• Interest in learning basic microbiology and accurately performing testing procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Physical dexterity to manipulate samples.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10–15 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to spend extended time standing.

Responsibilities

• Learn basic microbiology and accurately perform testing procedures to obtain accurate results.
