Weekend Lab Tech, PRN
About The Position
The Weekend Lab Tech performs moderate- and high-complexity testing in accordance with CLIA standards. The role performs hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, and coagulation testing to provide data used in diagnosing and treating disease, as well as quantitative and qualitative procedures. The Lab Tech maintains detailed records of tests and reports results to authorized personnel. The position requires independent work and phlebotomy for emergency room, inpatient, and outpatient patients. A weekend package of $1,300 is available for working the entire shift. On-call coverage runs from Friday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 5:30 a.m. Additional hours may be available as needed. The employee must work at least one weekend per quarter and be willing to work weekends and on-call shifts.
Requirements
- MT, MLT, MLA, or CLA credential, or a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry or biology.
- Good vision and verbal skills.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and cope with a variety of situations.
- Willingness to work on-call and weekends.
- Must work at least one weekend per quarter.
