About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Support Clerk to join their team. This role involves preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, communicating with client office staff, researching and resolving customer and specimen issues, meeting department goals, and accurately entering patient information. The position also includes packing and shipping specimens, scrubbing requisitions, and performing special services like spinning, freezing, and splitting specimens. The role is onsite with a client office and requires travel throughout the Chicago, suburbs, and Northwest Indiana area. The pay range is $17.75 - $22.00 per hour, with an eligible 2nd Shift differential. Requirements

High School diploma or GED or equivalent
1 year or more experience in laboratory or accessioning or data entry or manufacturing
Comfortable handling biological specimens
Ability to accurately identify specimens
Experience working in a team environment
Strong data entry and organizational skills
High level of attention to detail
Proficient in MS Office
Able to lift up to 40lbs.
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
Be at least 21 years' old
Must be willing to travel throughout Chicago, suburbs and Northwest Indiana area

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
Communicate effectively with client office staff
Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems
Meet department activity and production goals
Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
Accurately identify and label specimens
Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
Do spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client
