About The Position

This role involves performing routine calibration of equipment and instruments, identifying and rectifying operational issues, and maintaining detailed calibration records. The technician will communicate quality findings to the Quality Manager and coordinate with external vendors for third-party calibrations. Responsibilities also include conducting tests, analyzing results to identify defects, interpreting and operating metallurgical equipment, and performing tensile tests to verify mechanical properties. Maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols, and performing other assigned duties are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Must be a United States person.
  • A working command of the English language (verbal and written).
  • High school diploma or GED certificate is required.
  • Strong computer Skills
  • Strong analytical skills and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and closely follow directions.
  • Available to work weekends and overtime as may be required.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling weights up to 50 pounds for short periods of time.

  • The employee will regularly lift and / or move up to 50lbs.
  • Exposure to hot/cold work environment during summer/winter.

  • While in the shop the use of personal protective equipment is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus, but it is not required.
  • Trade school certifications are desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine calibration of equipment and instruments.
  • Identify and rectify any issues with the operation of equipment.
  • Maintain Calibration Records and Certifications.
  • Maintain detailed records of observations and all identified quality issues.
  • Communicate quality findings to the Quality Manager.
  • Communicate and coordinate with outside vendors on items requiring third party calibration.
  • Conduct test and analyzing results to identify defects and recommend improvements.
  • Interpret and operate Tensile testing and all Metallurgical Equipment.
  • Tensile test from test bars or actual forgings to verify mechanical properties.
  • Processing of all outside testing purchase orders.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
