Lab Clerk
About The Position
ProHealth Physician Laboratories in Wallingford, Connecticut, is seeking a responsible, hardworking, and detail-oriented Lab Clerk. This role supports specimen processing and the testing laboratory by meeting productivity and quality standards, identifying and addressing specimen issues, completing documentation, and following laboratory policies and safety requirements. The position is 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a rotating Saturday. The role includes training and development for progression to additional functions within Specimen Processing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer knowledge.
- Data entry skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Previous related experience is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Perform all responsibilities of Specimen Processing.
- Exceed productivity and quality standards set by ProHealth Physicians Laboratory.
- Solve more complex problems on a routine basis.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of how Specimen Processing impacts the testing laboratory.
- Identify problems with specimen types and missing information, assign the appropriate TIQ, and resolve issues in some cases.
- Understand the complex relationship between tests ordered and specimens received.
- Complete all required written documentation legibly and within the assigned time frame.
- Meet quality and production standards within six months of completing training.
- Learn additional functions within Specimen Processing to progress to the next level in a timely manner.
- Adhere to ProHealth Physicians Laboratory policies and procedures, including safety and compliance requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned after 90 days of training.
