About The Position
The Lab Associate 2 Clinical works in Specimen Management and is responsible for accessioning specimens or patient tissue materials for testing, including packaging materials to send to referring laboratories, with minimal guidance. The role works closely with laboratory staff, medical staff, and external customers, and performs customer service functions such as telephone etiquette, basic troubleshooting, and problem resolution. It also provides general clerical support and processes samples before testing. Additional duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of relevant work experience.
Responsibilities
- Sort, triage, receive, send, process, and batch specimens.
- Process samples pre-analytically for testing.
- Accession specimens or patient tissue materials for testing.
- Package specimens or tissue materials to send to referring laboratories.
- Provide customer service, including telephone etiquette, basic troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
- Provide general clerical support.
