About The Position
Under the general supervision of the laboratory director, the laboratory assistant performs certain laboratory procedures in phlebotomy, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, microbiology and hematology. These procedures exclude any which are performed only by licensed personnel under the state or national licensure regulations.
Requirements
- Moderate knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal, written and clerical skills.
- Qualifications in accordance with Federal Register (CLIA 88) part 493, subpart M, Personnel Qualifications.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Certification as a laboratory assistant.
- Experience as a phlebotomist/ drawing neonates, pediatrics, adults and geriatrics.
