About The Position

Mercy Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory Department at Anderson Hospital. The role involves drawing blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and completing clerical tasks to help the department operate efficiently. Duties also include order entry, looking up results, generating reports, and answering internal and external calls in a friendly, helpful manner. The position requires travel to off-site locations.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomist certification.
• One year of phlebotomy experience.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful customer service to patients and members of the community.
• Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures and ensure they are properly processed.
• Accurately identify patients and match each patient’s identity with the correct service.
• Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as requested by test orders.
• Perform clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
