About The Position

Mercy Health’s Laboratory Department is seeking a Phlebotomist to draw quality blood samples, prepare specimens for laboratory testing, and complete clerical duties that help the department operate efficiently. Duties include order entry, result lookup, report generation, and responding to internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner. The position requires travel to off-site locations.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to engage professionally with staff and patients.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomist certification.
• One year of phlebotomy experience.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients and community members respectfully.
• Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures and ensure they are properly processed.
• Accurately identify patients and match each patient’s identity with the correct service.
• Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as requested by test orders.
• Perform clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
