About The Position

The Laboratory Department is seeking a Phlebotomist to draw blood samples from patients, prepare specimens for laboratory testing, and complete clerical duties that help the department operate efficiently. The role includes order entry, looking up results, generating reports, and responding to internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner. The position is at Mary Immaculate Hospital and requires travel to off-site locations. It is scheduled for 40 hours per week on the day shift.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to engage with staff and patients in a professional manner.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomist certification preferred but not required.
• One year of phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community members respectfully and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures and ensure they are properly processed.
• Accurately identify patients and match their identity with the correct service.
• Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as requested by test orders.
• Perform clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
