About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Lab Assistant I to provide support for the Auto Chemistry Tech Operations Support department in Clifton, New Jersey. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 1:00 AM to 9:30 AM. The role includes handling and sorting laboratory samples, supporting supplies and inventory, responding to calls, and performing waived tests under supervision. The listed pay range is $17.20–$24.08 per hour. The employee may be eligible for a shift differential of 10% for some or all second-shift hours and 15% for some or all third-shift hours. Candidates may also be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation. Quest Diagnostics offers a range of benefits and programs, with eligibility depending in part on whether the position is part-time or full-time.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Provides a wide variety of support for the assigned laboratory department.
- Picks up samples from accessioning and sorts them into appropriate racks.
- Answers phones and directs calls appropriately.
- Unpacks and stores reagents and supplies.
- Inventories and orders warehouse supply items.
- Sorts samples and distributes them to the appropriate setup hood.
- Manages the specimen library within established time frames.
- Performs waived tests under supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
