About The Position

Provides phlebotomy expertise, decision-making, and problem-solving based on in-depth knowledge of phlebotomy procedures. Collects patient specimens, receives them into the computer system, processes them, and delivers them for laboratory testing. The position is based at Baptist Medical Center East and requires travel between facilities as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved phlebotomy training program or one year of proven experience in a hospital, reference, or physician office laboratory.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Proficiency in using personal computers.
• Frequent prolonged standing and walking.
• Occasional lifting of supplies or equipment up to 25 pounds.
• Continuous speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation, either by phone or in person.
• Continuous manual dexterity and mobility.
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
• Continuous ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less, judge distance and spatial relationships, bring objects into focus, and distinguish and identify colors.
