About The Position

SPL is hiring a Laboratory Analyst to support its energy laboratory team in Artesia, New Mexico. The role contributes to daily laboratory operations by preparing samples, conducting analytical tests, documenting results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and supporting quality, compliance, and safety initiatives. The analyst works hands-on with laboratory instrumentation and helps maintain a safe, efficient, and organized laboratory environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
1–2 years of hands-on analytical laboratory experience, including operating analytical instrumentation such as GC, GC-MS, or comparable systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Responsibilities

Prepare samples and perform analytical testing in accordance with approved methods, standard operating procedures, and quality standards.
Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instrumentation.
Enter, document, and review test results in LIMS and other designated systems.
Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and support the laboratory quality system, including audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Follow safety and compliance protocols to maintain a safe and efficient laboratory environment.
Assist with laboratory housekeeping, inventory management, and cross-training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
