About The Position

SPL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to support its energy laboratory team in Artesia, New Mexico. The role contributes to daily laboratory operations through sample preparation, analytical testing, and accurate documentation in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). The analyst works hands-on with laboratory instrumentation, supports quality and compliance initiatives, and helps maintain a safe, efficient, and organized laboratory environment. The position offers the opportunity to develop technical expertise and collaborate with an experienced team while supporting reliable, high-quality laboratory results.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
1–2 years of hands-on analytical laboratory experience, including operating analytical instrumentation such as GC, GC-MS, or comparable systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Responsibilities

Prepare samples and perform analytical testing in accordance with approved methods, standard operating procedures, and quality standards.
Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instrumentation.
Enter, document, and review test results in LIMS and other designated systems.
Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and support the laboratory quality system, including audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Follow safety and compliance protocols to maintain a safe and efficient laboratory environment.
Assist with laboratory housekeeping, inventory management, and cross-training as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
