The Lab Aide will assist with genotyping mice and general mouse husbandry. This person will also be responsible for general laboratory duties, such as preparation of lab stock solutions, lab maintenance, and emptying biohazard waste.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent with an interest in the sciences.

Nice To Haves

Enrollment in a university-level science degree program (e.g. biology, chemistry, or biochemistry).
Previous or current coursework in biology and/or chemistry and past laboratory experience.
Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to learn new skills quickly is essential.

Responsibilities

Assist with genotyping and mouse husbandry.
Prepare media and reagents, such as stock solutions.
Restock lab supplies.
Empty biohazard waste.
May assist with experiments and set-up.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preparation for experiments through making reagents/ buffers/ gathering protocols / labeling.
In vitro cell culture.
Mouse dissection and organ harvest, cell isolation.
Mouse handling and breeding.
Lab maintenance skills.
Genotyping of animals using flow cytometry.
