About The Position

This is a part-time, one-year term position. The hours and days of work are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 PM to 1 AM, and Saturdays from 12:30 PM to 6 PM. The salary is $20.04 per hour. The purpose of this position is to identify, verify, process, and prepare microbiology samples. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency in English allowing participation in team meetings, accurate data entry into company systems, and understanding written instructions.
Proficiency in French, essential for participating in team meetings, accurately entering data into internal systems, and understanding written instructions.
Solid computer skills, including good typing speed and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Autonomy and team spirit.
Positive and pragmatic attitude.

Nice To Haves

Previous laboratory experience is desirable.
Laboratory skills, with experience in setting up, performing, and reading certain tests, as well as using laboratory instruments.
Knowledge of medical and laboratory terminology and microbiology procedures and equipment.

Responsibilities

Achieve minimum productivity goals.
Perform all required quality checks, such as recording temperatures, date of opening for all reagents and supplies, and initialing.
Organize, repair, and seed the various laboratory tests.
Participate in the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of these.
Report any technical/quality control issues to their supervisor.
Adhere to applicable procedures (PRO, SOP, FR, …), including safety and quality procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Restock supplies as needed.
Participate in improving efficiency, quality, and cooperation within the laboratory.
Consult with experienced peers for non-complex tasks to learn through experience.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Look for missing samples, check waitlists/tracking screens, print worksheets, and place them in labeled folders.
Store all samples according to current procedures.
