About The Position
Global Impact Group LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and ISO 9001 / ISO 17100 certified provider of interpretation and translation services. We deliver secure, high-quality language access solutions in more than 80 languages for USCIS and other federal agencies. We are seeking Konjobal / Q’anjob’al Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Konjobal / Q’anjob’al , widely spoken in Guatemala, is a rare but critical language for asylum and immigration interviews.
Requirements
- Native or near-native fluency in Konjobal / Q’anjob’al and English.
- 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, community, legal, or government preferred).
- Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural competency.
- Excellent telephone communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 security clearance.

- Certifications (court, community, or professional interpreting credentials preferred).
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time Konjobal / Q’anjob’al ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
- Interpret in immigration, legal, and administrative settings with accuracy and impartiality.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to USCIS/DHS compliance standards.
- Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge calls.
- Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality audits.
