About The Position

Global Impact Group LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and ISO 9001 / ISO 17100 certified provider of interpretation and translation services. We deliver secure, high-quality language support in more than 80 languages to USCIS and other federal agencies. We are seeking Montenegrin Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Montenegrin, part of the South Slavic language group, is a rare Balkan language needed in immigration and asylum interviews.

Requirements

Native or near-native fluency in Montenegrin and English.
2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, healthcare, community, or government preferred).
Knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
Strong telephone communication skills and ability to remain accurate under pressure.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.

Nice To Haves

Any certifications (court, ATA, medical, or community interpreting credentials preferred).

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Montenegrin ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.
Interpret accurately, neutrally, and professionally in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts.
Adhere to USCIS/DHS confidentiality and interpreter ethics standards.
Handle both scheduled and urgent/surge assignments.
Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.
