About The Position

This role involves loading, unloading, and moving products and materials by hand or equipment. The Kitter will sort and package fabricated parts onto a cart according to the subassembly list and deliver them to the point of use in the plant, either manually or with equipment. A key responsibility is to check that subassembly counts are correct and that items meet visual quality inspection standards, reporting any discrepancies to the fabrication area. The position may also include assisting in taking inventory and weighing, checking, and sorting materials. Additionally, the Kitter will put away received materials in their proper storage locations and confirm that inventory transactions are complete. Participation in clean-up activities is also expected. All duties must be performed in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code. Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Critical eye for identifying defects.
  • Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various assembly processes.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or equipment.
