About The Position

The Kitchen Worker is responsible for cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and banquet areas. Duties include cleaning pots and pans; washing china, glassware, and silverware; mopping and sweeping floors; and keeping work areas clean and organized. The role also supports buffet restocking, banquet dish-ups, and compliance with applicable health department, sanitation, and safety regulations.

Requirements

Previous experience as a hotel or restaurant dishwasher, or in a janitorial or cleaning position.
Ability to convey information and ideas clearly and promptly.
Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly to lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize pots and pans.
Wash china, glassware, and silverware; mop and sweep floors; and keep the work area clean and organized.
Wash floor mats, speed racks, queenmarys, kettles, roasting pans, dollies, and other equipment.
Restock buffet lines with ice, china, flatware, and glassware.
Polish silver equipment as needed or directed.
Empty trash cans and keep the loading dock clean.
Maintain clean floors as directed by the supervisor.
Clean walk-ins, freezers, reach-ins, and back hallways.
Help with banquet dish-ups as needed or directed by the supervisor.
Follow health department, sanitation, and safety regulations.
