About The Position

The Bar Apprentice provides excellent service to all guests who approach the bar, keeps the bar area clean and stocked, and assists the Bartender with various duties. The role operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with constant public interaction. Shifts may vary based on business needs, and the position requires tolerating secondary tobacco smoke.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of prior Bartender or Bar Apprentice experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in a money-handling position.
• Knowledge of beverages, glassware, and garnishes.
• Effective professional communication in English, both verbal and written.
• A neat and professional appearance.
• Ability to interact with customers, the public, and co-workers.
• Ability to work as part of a team with other staff members.
• Ability to accurately count money and provide change.
• Schedule flexibility, which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to stand, walk, and repeatedly lift a minimum of 15–20 pounds.
• Ability to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke.

Responsibilities

• Clean the bar area, including bar tops, sinks, glasses, refrigerators, and other bar appliances.
• Acknowledge, greet, and converse with customers who approach the bar.
• Prepare and pour drinks for customers and cocktail servers upon request.
• Process cash transactions accurately, make necessary change, and present customers with bar receipts.
• Convert cash to coins for customers playing slot machines in the bar area.
• Call a designated slot employee when requested by a guest or bartender.
