About The Position

The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen equipment, China, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, and work areas, and replenishing supplies with clean ware. The role also performs additional duties as assigned by the Executive Chef. The listed pay rate is $15.00 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must meet all required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Virginia Racing Commission License.
Valid driver's license and at least three years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, flatware, and glassware.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including dry storage and walk-in coolers.
Empty kitchen trash receptacles and properly dispose of garbage.
Perform daily kitchen cleaning tasks.
Use safe work practices and perform duties safely and carefully.
Break down kitchen equipment for cleaning using company-approved chemicals.
Comply with department and company rules, regulations, policies, procedures, internal controls, and applicable government rules and regulations.
Replenish supplies with clean ware.
Attend required company training sessions.
Obtain and retain required licenses.
Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
Take necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
Maintain knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the department and of the property's programs addressing problem gaming.
Report known acts of wrongdoing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
