About The Position

The Kitchen Steward / Dishwasher cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment, prep areas, walk-ins, storage spaces, and food and beverage workspaces. The role washes and stores dishes and cookware, manages trash and recycling, and helps kitchen and event teams with setup, breakdown, and occasional dish-up assistance. The position is full-time at the Southfield Westin in Southfield, Michigan, with a compensation range of $17.65 to $18.65. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

Requirements

No prior experience is required; training will be provided to the right candidate.
Food Safety Certificate, or willingness to complete training within 90 days.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, bend, or squat for long periods.
Team-oriented approach, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
Flexibility to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, prep areas, walk-ins, and storage spaces.
Wash and store dishes, pots, pans, glasses, and utensils in designated areas.
Manage trash and recycling, clean bins, and maintain the dock area.
Support kitchen and event teams with setup and breakdown, and provide occasional dish-up assistance.
Help maintain consistent sanitation standards across food and beverage workspaces.
