About The Position

National Star Services, a 28-year-old facility management company providing services nationwide, is hiring Kitchen Helpers at its location in Des Plaines, Illinois. Kitchen Helpers work with chefs and cooks to prepare high-end products served daily to hundreds of international airline guests. The schedule is Monday through Sunday, with two days off in between; the supervisor provides the weekly schedule. Hours are 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Starting pay is $17.50 per hour, paid biweekly.

Requirements

• Have two updated, valid forms of identification.
• Be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Have and wear slip-resistant shoes at work.
• Have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Be able to start working as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs and cooks with kitchen tasks, including food preparation.
• Cut fruits and vegetables.
• Prepare small dishes.
• Plate food and set up airline catering trays.
• Read, understand, and follow menu specifications.
• Keep kitchen areas clean and tidy.
• Comply with hygiene, quality, and safety standards at all times.
