About The Position
A medical facility in Tyler, Texas, is hiring a Cafeteria Cook. The position pays $16.50 per hour and offers shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., or 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The work schedule is Monday through Friday and every other weekend. The cook prepares food according to standardized recipes, including modified and restricted meals, monitors food and equipment temperatures, manages stock, operates commercial kitchen equipment, assists with training kitchen assistants, sets up patient tray lines, and cleans work areas.
Requirements
- Related experience in commercial, institutional, or healthcare food preparation.
- Ability to stand and walk for long shifts.
Responsibilities
- Follow standardized recipes.
- Prepare modified and restricted meals.
- Monitor food and equipment temperatures.
- Receive, store, and rotate stock.
- Operate industrial ovens, steamers, grills, slicers, and deep fryers.
- Train or guide kitchen assistants.
- Set up patient tray lines.
- Clean work areas.
