About The Position

As a Kitchen Captain, you will be responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for internal & external guests. In this position, the kitchen captain will assist in expediting service & ensuring a smooth flowing bridge between the kitchen & dining room – reporting directly to the chef & restaurant manager. This position will also lead the education of all food & menu product from the kitchen to the servers & all other FOH representatives.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
  • Must be able to speak the English language fluently.
  • Must be able to handle high-pressure situations.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts – including holidays, weekends, evenings, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills & ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to interface professionally with business contacts and customers.
  • Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a guest service role.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous fine dining experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality industry helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for actively building & retaining guest relations & acts as a mentor to other associates to provide superior guest service.
  • Strong preparation skills – including but not limited to setting up workspace for shift, following health regulations & best practices, stocking items necessary for service, set up expo station, prepare base plates & assist with final plate checks (wipes) prior to guest delivery.
  • Responsible for securing & protecting assets of the company.
  • Knowledge of allergies, dietary restrictions & to work with the chef on food descriptions & menu terms – to become the FOH “food expert” through communication with the kitchen & information provided by the chef.
  • Act as the lead SA in terms of closing side-work checks.
  • Maintain an organized, clean work environment.
  • Assist with clear communication between expo, chef & front of house service teams throughout service.
  • Obtains & maintains RAMP certification through the state of PA, following state regulations regarding responsible alcohol service.
  • Assists with EOM inventory, alongside leadership.

  • Creating a genuine experience for dining & beverage service, following all SOPs & SOS, resort standards & guest expectations.
